Stuff I Made

Just gonna update with a few things I made recently for other people. Regular art to come soon(ish?)

This was an envelope a friend scribbled his address on when he left town. I decorated it before I sent him a letter in it, and perhaps went a little overboard. Addresses photoshopped out for privacy.

More Nakedness

I hate to inundate my blog with nudies, but this figure drawing thing is mostly all I've done lately, so here's a few more. Used the art stix again, and broke out some water media for a few.

Naked People

I've been attending a weekly figure drawing session. I've only gone twice so far, but I'm enjoying getting back into some sort of classically academic drawing.

Here's some of what I ended up with. One session was done with woodless graphite pencils, the other with prismacolor art stix. Poses were mostly 10-15 minutes.

Charity

The bank I work for is joining a fundraiser/walk for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund. We're sponsoring a child, Ethan Angel, and they did a contest for a t-shirt design for the team. Here's my submission, which won me an extra vacation day.

Embroidery!

Haven't posted in a long time, I know. There's been a lot happening with me lately, and art has been lower on my priorities than usual.

So I haven't done a lot of artwork, but I have taken to embroidering on scraps of fabric. I have no idea what to do with any of these little scraps, but I like them and someday I'm sure I'll find a use for them. The process of embroidering is relaxing to me, and it's something I can do when it's slow at work or while watching movies, so it's been an easy way to be creative.

Here's some of my little scraps I've done so far.






And then there's a project I did for a dear friend. He asked me to fancy up a shirt of his with his namesake. There's a cardinal on the front, of which I didn't really get a great picture, and Cardinale written on the back.




That's it for now. Maybe by next posting I'll have come up with a use for the little pieces.

Watercolor painting of a feather on a rocky beach, based off a photo I took ages ago. I've always liked the image, but in retrospect it makes sort of a dull painting. It was more of practice anyways; I love watercolors, but don't use them often, so this was a nice challenge. Used some watercolor pencil too - it helps. Size is somewhere near 11"x14" and I don't think this photo came out very well, but I can't seem to get better.

Robo-Fairy

I sketched this ages ago, and finally redid it on photoshop. Unfortunately I forgot to enlarge it first, so it's kind of tiny, but I'm not all that invested in it so it's not a big deal.



Are the specks sparkles or just plain sparks? You decide.
